Every year approximately 20,000 children “age out” of the foster care system (18-21 yrs old). Most are totally unprepared to live on their own and support themselves. Statistics show that homelessness, drug and alcohol abuse, incarceration, and sex trafficking are higher in this group than with their peers who were not in foster care.
Imagine being 18 years old and being told you are now “emancipated”. Many have not completed high school, are not employed, and have nowhere to live. Can you imagine living without a dream, without hope?
will welcome those who have been “thrown away”. Through caring for rescued horses and learning to live sustainably, hope will be born, dreams will be conceived, and precious lives will be transformed.
